A recent post on the KevinMD blog discussed the Wired call to redesign pathology results, and the resulting work from informationisbeautiful.com. This happened back in November last year and is the first in hopefully many changes to the way we visualise health data.
There is a competition under way at the moment from the US Department of Health to develop a SMART (Substitutable Medical Apps, Reusable Technologies) app that uses the visualisation created for Wired but in a dynamic fashion.
I made this very short (2min) screencast using the default live data provided and show how you can display that information in real time to patients. This is an example only, the patient data is not real and the application is an example for developers to be inspired by. You can created your own account and have a play as well.
It will be exciting to see what may arise from this challenge.
